Remember that frothy, dreamy Orange Julius from the mall? This recipe turns that nostalgic flavor into an incredibly creamy, scoopable ice cream using your Ninja Creami. It’s pure sunshine in a bowl!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup orange juice (no pulp recommended for the smoothest texture)
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp instant vanilla pudding mix (regular or sugar-free works!)
  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 12 tbsp extra milk (for the re-spin)

Instructions

  1. Mix the Base: In a Ninja Creami pint, combine the orange juice, ½ cup of milk, instant pudding mix, and vanilla extract. Whisk vigorously or use a milk frother until the mixture is completely smooth and the pudding mix has dissolved.
  2. Freeze Solid: Secure the lid and place the pint on a level surface in your freezer. Freeze for a minimum of 24 hours. The base must be frozen solid all the way through.
  3. First Spin: Place the frozen pint into the outer bowl, attach the processor lid, and lock it into your Ninja Creami machine. Select the ‘Lite Ice-Cream’ function. After the cycle, the mixture will likely look dry and crumbly—don’t worry, this is normal!
  4. Re-Spin to Perfection: Add 1-2 tablespoons of extra milk to the center of the crumbly mixture. Place the pint back in the machine and press the ‘Re-Spin’ button. The result will be a perfectly smooth, thick, and creamy ice cream ready to eat!

Notes

  • Serving Suggestions: Enjoy immediately for a perfect soft-serve texture. For a truly nostalgic feel, serve it in a tall glass with a straw and a spoon. After the re-spin, feel free to use the ‘Mix-In’ function to add white chocolate chips or crushed shortbread cookies.
  • Tips & Tricks: A milk frother is the secret weapon for a perfectly smooth, clump-free base. For a richer treat, substitute some of the whole milk with heavy cream. For a dairy-free version, use full-fat oat milk or canned coconut milk.
  • Storage Instructions: To store leftovers, smooth the top surface of the ice cream in the pint, replace the lid, and return it to the freezer. To enjoy again, simply place the frozen pint back in the machine and run it on the ‘Lite Ice-Cream’ cycle to bring it back to its creamy state.
